The primary difference between 10w30 VS 5w30 oil is their viscosity. 10w30 oil is thicker and designed for use in higher temperatures and heavier engine loads. 5w30 oil, on the other hand, is thinner and designed for use in colder temperatures and lighter engine loads. Both oils are formulated to protect against wear and tear on engine components.
Huntsville, AL. Apr 7, 2014. #18. The API SL 0w-30 version that is listed on Germany's and France's websites show that the formula now contains titanium, and the flash points are now 210C and PP = -60C like the 0w-40 version of Edge Professional A3 (FP = 211C).

Looks like Mobil-1 0w40 put up the best horsepower numbers which probably means less drag on moving parts so I doubt it will significantly hurt any mileage ratings. Viscosity loss was minimal as well so looks like I'll be using 0w40 Mobil-1.

The difference between 0W30 and 5W30 oil is in its viscosity at low temperatures, as the 0W30 oil flows better in harsh winter climates. 0W30 is exclusively synthetic, while 5W30 can also be a blend. If we're only comparing the synthetics, then there's next to no difference between 0W30 and 5W30. 0W30 and 5W30: Differences & Similarities

I went to the car parts place to buy the 0w30 which had BMW LL04 on the bottle. However as I had bought the a5/B5 oil in early Dec and I didn't have time off work to do the job till after xmas I can no longer return this oil. So I've been trying to find out the difference between Edge 0w30 and edge 0w30 A5/B5.
Nov 2, 2022. #1. I have two jugs in my stash right now. One SuperTech 0W-20 HM, and one Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 HM. Engine is a Honda 3.5 V6. Burns a bit of oil, maybe 6/10ths of a quart every 3,000 miles. Car calls for 5W-20. Mileage is approaching 150,000. I'd like to start running 30 weights for film strength, but with the cold weather
